Walk with teakha / a walk through the cultures of our community.
teakha is 5 years old! 茶。家五歲了！|| \ WALK WITH TEAKHA \ 茶。家社區步行 \
Being one of the first to set up shop on Tai Ping Shan St. and later off Hill Road, we feel that our success is blessed very much by the beautiful community we’re in. So we’re celebrating by organizing a walk between teakha and teakha kitchen, taking you through the culture and history of the neighborhood with the help of illustrator Maoshan Connie and local treasure hunters Katty, Kit and Charlton, and of course, with tea in tow!! Because we’re about the community, the environment, and everything created by the warmth of our hands :)
我們早早於太平山街與山道落地生根，參與了這兩處社區這些年來的大小事，對我們來說，美好的社群正是我們茁壯的養分。因此這次生日，我們組織了由茶。家走到茶。家廚房的社區步行，帶大家認識我們在地聚落的文化與歷史 ;)與我們同行的將是插畫家貓珊Connie的可愛繪畫，和本地嚮導羅雅寧、張朝敦和楊子傑（還有茶可以喝）！因為，對我們來說，我們的環境、人與人之間的連結，以及一切由雙手創造的溫暖是最重要的！

The Kadoorie Farm and Botanic Garden (KFBG) will launch its ‘Green Hub’ project in Spring, 2015 at the Old Tai Po Police Station. The site was offered to NGO’s through the government’s Revitalising Historic Buildings Through Partnership Scheme and will soon be open to the public as a space to share ideas, meet like-minded people and provide training and information on climate change and sustainable living. As part of the conservation team, we also designed and curated the heritage interpretation exhibition on site, telling the story of the area, the building and also the process of conservation. The Old Tai Po Police Station was built in 1907, meticulous research was carried out in order to make conservation decisions. Although the major work was to restore the original architectural characteristics of the building, such as replacing late-addition outbuildings with theme-gardens to bring the courtyard back to life. The buildings will serve similar functions as they did in the past, for example, the Canteen Block will host a canteen to promote a low-carbon diet. The original outlook of the Detention Cells, Armory and other architectural features, as well as the old and valuable trees, will be preserved as part of a heritage exhibition and trail.’
This drawing will be displayed in the Heritage Exhibition Rooms.

大地予我 is established in 2014 to support a group of local artists, farmers and students from underprivileged background to participate in the art and rice cultivation project in the Echigo Tsumari Art Triennial, an international art festival held in Niigata, Japan.
