Therapy dogs are trained to provide affection and comfort people in hospitals, retirement, schools, mental institutions and disaster areas. They are friendly, patient, confident, gentle and at ease in all situations. Their primarily job is to allow unfamiliar people to make physical contacts with them, and to enjoy the contact. Children in particular loves hugging animals.
